"One that I love so much is that he’s a life coach and he brings a lot of those life coaching skills and teaches us as doctors how to coach our patients throughout this whole program of corrective care/chiropractic. I love that our staff get to come and experience the whole life coaching aspect as well because our staff has had major changes..."

My name is Dan Edmonds. I am with Freedom Family Chiropractic in Centerville, Ohio, and this is my first Boot Camp. When I came here, I had no idea what the Boot Camp was going to be like. The experience was amazing. They coached you through each script and helped you, and were very supportive in every aspect.
I'm excited to go back to my practice on Monday and start incorporating everything. I'm really excited to see how my practice is going to grow, and what the patient results are going to be like when I get back to Ohio. I learned so much this week. I learned so much about myself and really about life, not just about chiropractic. Really opened my eyes on what I'm doing wrong as a person, and what I'm doing right as a person, how I can actually change and better myself in my relationship with my wife and family and stuff like that. It was a lot more personal growth than just chiropractic. It's a great experience.
I would recommend this to another doctor because it helps with relationships—if you're married, if you have family, it helps with communication with people in church, meeting people out in the public, you can read people's posture better, and actually help people. Also, we did start incorporating a few details into the practice over the past couple weeks when we signed on with Elite, and literally looking at our numbers with patients and new patients coming in through referrals in the past four weeks, it's amazing the incline that we've gotten already. I'm really excited to see what's here to come in the future..
I would definitely recommend Elite Coaching to anybody, and I definitely will recommend to everybody that I know to at least come to a seminar, come to a Boot Camp, just to meet Dr. Fred or get on the phone with him and see, because it can only help you. Really, the best investment that you can make is in yourself. As soon as we talked to Dr. Fred, we knew right away this was what we want to do. We knew we needed to do something, so we jumped 100% onboard and went from there. I would recommend it 100% to anybody.
I got into Elite about three years ago when I moved up there to be with my wife. What happened was I needed some direction, I needed some assistance in my communication. I have a big, big goal to help as many people as I can and the “how” to do that wasn't there. I found myself not necessarily prepared to deal with some of the questions that people had or some of the objections I was getting, and Dr. Fred really helped out with that.
I think with what Dr. Fred's been able to do with the Elite System is he's been able to give you something that is essentially a full way to take a patient through a process that's going to help them commit to themselves and take responsibility for their health, and be a leader in their circle of influence. I think that's really important, because deep down everybody wants the help that we can offer them.
Occasionally we get in the way and we don't necessarily communicate how to help them appropriately, and Dr. Fred can really help out with that, and he can help out from the business standpoint, but some of his most influential help and assistance has come from a personal standpoint in helping me grow—as my coach, as my mentor, and as a guide. I can come to him with a problem and he's always got a solution or he helps me find the solution.
With Dr. Fred, we've established a relationship even beyond the coaching that's been great, because, like I said, I can call him up at any time with some type of question and he'll help me through it. Whether it's about understanding what's going on with a patient or whether it's about something going on in my personal life that he can help coach me through, and that's been the real value in Elite. It's great for the practice, it's great for helping you grow in the practice, and helping your patients grow, but it's also so important in helping you grow.
One of the interesting things is not only will he ask about the practice, not only will he ask about the business, but he'll also say, "Hey, how's the kid doing? How's the wife doing?" He keeps you in check because he wants you to have that balance, and I think that's where the Elite name for this coaching program is so appropriately labelled, because it is elite. It does take it to another level. Not only are you going to get the understanding that every patient matters, but Dr. Fred also makes you feel like you matter.
This system works, and he can help you make that system work for you. Our first year, we were voted best in Alaska in our first six months. Then we have been best in Alaska last year and this year, so three years in a row we've been best in Alaska, and a lot of that is also because of the training that we've received here with Elite. We're able to talk to patients in a way that they receive the message well and they stay committed to their most important asset, which is their health, and that's the most important thing, because before, I was unable to do that. I wasn't able to say, "Hey, you need to go ahead and focus on this and take care of that," but with Dr. Fred's help we were able to help communicate it in a way where they take responsibility for it which is most important, because that's how they're going to change.
We hit our highest point earlier this year where we were actually between 390 and 400 visits a week. Within about a four-year timeframe, I went from an associate, just starting out as an independent contractor with less than 50 visits going to about 135, growing out of that practice and establishing our own practice, and then within another year and a half or so, getting up to about 390 to 400 visits a week. It's been fantastic.
I'm closer and closer, the longer I work with him, to fulfilling the vision I have for my life, the vision I have for our community, and the purpose that I feel like I've been put on this earth to accomplish.
Hi my name is Lauren Mykalcio, I’m a chiropractor in New York and I’ve been an Elite client now for almost a year. Since joining Elite, I’ve noticed our energy in the office is more upbeat. I can communicate more effectively with patients which allows me to help more people and overall it's just been a great experience.
Hi, my name is Jason Haas, I am a CBP instructor, I am a CBP nonprofit board member, and I've been involved with CBP for well over a decade now. This is my sixth boot camp that I've been to with Dr. Fred. Dr. Fred's coaching is really second to none, and one of the most important things that we've gotten out of working with Dr. Fred over the last several years is what we get here at the hands-on workshops, because it's one thing to be cerebral about it, and read it on paper. It's another thing to have to stand up and do it, and say it, and be critiqued on what you're doing and your communication skills. I think that it's made me a better communicator, not just in my reports and in my workshops, but also in my other relationships with friends and family, and with my wife. The knowledge that I have gained on a real wisdom level extends way, way, way, beyond the practice. It moves into the realm of life-changing experiences.
What we see every day with what we've learned at the boot camps, and what we've learned with Dr. Fred's coaching, is that it gives us a practiced certainty, and real understanding that we're able to really get to the core needs of our patients, address those needs, not only with the beautiful thing that CBP allows to do in changing their spin, but being able to shift their perspective to understanding how important their health is, and how foundational their health is to everything else that they do in their life, be it their career, their education, their family, their recreation, or their spiritual goals. Whatever those goals may be, they are improved, because we have shown them how important their health is in all aspects of their life.
I would definitely recommend coming more than once. Again, it comes down to reading something versus doing it, hearing it again, and again, and again, seeing different doctors’ perspectives, and really getting the insights that not only Dr. Fred can offer, but also some of the other doctors, and some of the other coaches. Because there are so many different patients, and you're going to get so many different personalities, and those personalities are going to have to be addressed in nuanced, and subtle ways, and one of the very important things about the boot camps is it gives you those very subtle ways that you can address the different types of personalities that you see in practice.
We've worked with a lot of different coaches before. We continue to address our own life-coaching needs, and we're always trying to improve our personality, improve our life skills, and become better at what we do. One of the differences is that, yes, there are scripts, and yes, there are kind of cookie-cutter methods, but it is not a scripted program. The scripts are there to create a foundation for you, and then you can draw from those scripts and be able to, on the fly, modify them to suit the needs of the patient, and to answer the questions and ask the right questions at the time, which is totally different compared to other practice management techniques that we've worked with in the past, where's it's very scripted. It has to fit into this box. Dr. Fred doesn't try to cram you into a box, he lets you be yourself, and you can utilize his scripts to modify, and to change the way that you work with the patients, so that you can address their needs.
I'm not going to say that we had a pain-driven practice, or that it was only symptom driven, but it has definitely created more of a posture, and posture's effect on organs, in the daily activities of our patient. Our patients are not just there for neck pain, and back pain, and headaches, they have a deeper understanding that their postural distortions have implications for their overall health. It has allowed us to have more fun in practice and not just chase symptoms around all day long. We have a certainty to what we do in correcting the spine, and knowing that yes, that's going to address their symptoms, but it's also going to improve their overall health.
I would recommend this boot camp and Dr. Fred's techniques, especially, to CBP doctors because of the foundation in spinal correction that Dr. Fred brings to the table. Also, because often times CBP doctors are very intellectual, and very cerebral, and we love our numbers, and we love our logic, and unfortunately patients don't always have the same cerebral intellectual understanding of numbers, and logic. It's good to have that bridge between the real world and the very cerebral world of CBP doctors. The other aspect that I would highly recommend this to any chiropractor for is the simple fact that most of the schools fall very short in the teaching of communication, and how to communicate what health consequences come from having abnormal postures, and abnormal spines. Dr. Fred allows you to have some certainty in your practice that you did not in school, and you're probably not going to get from any of the other techniques out there, the other gurus, or the other coaches, that are available.
Hi, my name is Liz Patterson, and I’m a chiropractic assistant at Dr. Denny Warren’s office in Fayetteville, Arkansas. This is our 3rd Boot Camp we’ve attended, and since implementing the communication tools that I’ve learned through Dr. Fred, it has really changed the whole atmosphere at the office. The energy that everyone experiences is so high. People just walk in off the street and they feel the energy and they’re like “I don't know why I’m walking in here, but I feel like I should be here.” And I didn’t think that my job was that important before, but after coming to the Boot Camps, I realized how important the chiropractic assistant is to the whole feel of the office, the vibe and the energy that our patients feel.
My name is Robert Garfinkel. I practice in New York. I've been in practice for 22 years now. It's been a great, great journey. This is my first bootcamp with Dr. Fred. My first impression, my biggest impression, is just to be able to be exposed to a level of communication with patients that is just beyond anything I've really ever been exposed to. I think the one thing that I could really put my finger on, is that the systems and the communication strategies really bring you into having an innate connection with patients. That's what we want to do as chiropractors, is to release everyone's innate potential to the highest possible degree that we can.
I think another great ah-ha moment is really handling. Well, let me just backtrack on that. It is beginning the process of really communicating with the patient and helping them come to their own realization of what their problems are, and the damaging effects that subluxation and posture has on their overall health without me having to feel like I'm selling that. That's just been such a challenge, just not for our profession, but all of us. We contend to trying to sell, sell, sell, sell, and convince, convince, convince, convince. A person convinced against their will is of the same opinion still, so to speak. That's another big ah-ha moment for me, is patients coming to their own realization and their own truths without having to push my own agenda on them.
Listen, you have to want to change. You have to want to be different. You have to want to be able to communicate and to connect with people on a different level than you've ever had, and be willing to be vulnerable in letting go of your own agenda, and really bringing truth to a patient. If you're ready to make that change, just like we want our patients to make changes in their lives, I think this is a wonderful start.
